Senior Major Giving Officer – Eastern US

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a senior fundraising professional to lead major‑gift development across the Eastern United States. You will manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, guiding them from initial contact through multi‑year commitments of $100K or more.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and cultivate prospective major donors in the Eastern region.
• Develop and execute personalized solicitation strategies for five‑ and six‑figure gifts.
• Steward existing donors, ensuring timely recognition, reporting, and engagement.
• Collaborate with program leaders and external relations colleagues to create compelling proposals and communications.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of major‑gift prospects and track progress against revenue targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in major‑gift fundraising with a track record of securing $100K+ commitments.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to engage high‑net‑worth individuals.
