Weekend Caregiver (CNA/HCA)

About the role

Journey Nursing Services is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Care Aides (HCA) to provide weekend care in Seattle and surrounding areas. The role involves hands‑on patient care in homes, facilities, or adult family homes, focusing on dignity, safety, and individualized support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including ADL assistance, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition, take vital signs, record weights, and apply prescribed creams or ointments.
• Promote skin integrity by repositioning immobile residents and managing incontinence care.
• Follow individualized care plans, safety, and infection‑control procedures.
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and the care team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CNA or HCA license for Washington State (training can be provided on‑site).
• Good standing with Washington DSHS background check system.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Reliable transportation and, if providing client transport, a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Required skills

• Competence in performing ADLs and basic nursing tasks.
• Ability to lift 50 lb using proper body mechanics.
• Understanding of safety and infection‑control protocols.
