Vice President, Property Operations

About the role

The Vice President, Property Operations leads the property management function for a multi‑asset portfolio, driving operational success, profitability, and resident experience. This hands‑on leader works closely with Asset Management and cross‑functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and improve performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day operating strategy for a multi‑asset portfolio, ensuring consistent policies, curb appeal, and financial visibility.
• Partner with Construction, Asset Management, and onsite teams to prioritize critical building needs, monitor progress, and minimize resident disruption.
• Establish portfolio governance through KPI scorecards, risk reporting, and concise recommendations to executive leadership.
• Lead leasing and occupancy strategies, including pricing, concessions, marketing, and resident retention for challenging lease‑up assets.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, life‑safety readiness, audit resolution, and vendor procurement to achieve cost efficiencies.

Required profile

• 10+ years of multifamily property management experience with senior leadership responsibility.
• Proven success leading lease‑up environments and managing financially or physically challenged assets.
• Strong accounting foundation with advanced knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, and P&L analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain high‑performing teams.
