Vice President, Data Scientist – Open Finance

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a visionary Vice President of Data Science to lead its Open Finance business. You will shape strategy, build a world‑class data science organization, and deliver AI‑driven insights that power financial products and decisioning.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the data science strategy aligned with product and business goals.
• Lead development of production‑grade models for transaction categorization, entity extraction, fraud detection, credit risk, propensity modeling and other AI‑powered capabilities.
• Partner with product, engineering, sales, risk and marketing to translate customer needs into scalable solutions.
• Establish model governance, responsible AI standards, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred) with extensive leadership experience in data science or AI.
• Proven track record scaling high‑performing data science teams and delivering production‑grade machine‑learning solutions.
• Deep knowledge of modern ML/AI techniques applied to financial services, fintech or payments.
