About the role

The Tissue Culture Lab Research Associate II leads plant tissue culture production, ensuring efficient workflow and high‑quality micropropagation output. This hands‑on position supports the full production cycle from explant initiation to greenhouse transfer while collaborating with breeding, nursery, and plant health teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive daily tissue culture operations to meet production targets while maintaining a clean, organized lab.
• Supervise and train laboratory team members, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform initiations, sub‑cultures, and transfers across all micropropagation stages.
• Monitor cultures for contamination or growth issues and report promptly.
• Prepare and manage media, supplies, and equipment such as laminar flow hoods and autoclaves.
• Maintain detailed production records, batch numbers, and performance data.
• Assist with greenhouse‑based trials and contribute to protocol optimization and data reporting.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on plant tissue culture experience with strong aseptic technique proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, Biology or related field.
• Supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify and address workflow issues.
