Test and Validation Software Engineer

About the role

Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products. We are seeking a Test and Validation Software Engineer to ensure product quality and reliability through comprehensive testing and validation processes at our Newburgh, IN facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement testing frameworks, environments, and automated test systems for software and electrical systems.
• Execute functional, regression, performance, usability, compatibility, and security tests, and document results.
• Analyze test data, identify root causes, and report defects using bug‑tracking tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, provide feedback, and participate in design reviews.
• Create and maintain test plans, cases, scripts, and detailed documentation, and generate testing reports for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of test engineering experience, preferably with sensors, imaging, controls or software development.
• Experience with high‑voltage AC/DC power (800 V+), hardware/firmware/software testing, and mechanical/electrical fixturing.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, multitasking and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• LabVIEW and National Instruments DAQ hardware.
• Programming languages: Python, Java, C++, LabVIEW, macros.
• Communication protocols: CAN, RS‑232, RS‑485.
• Test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, digital multimeters.
• Version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools.
