Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & Electrical

About the role

Join 3M’s Oak Hills facility as a Maintenance Tech II, supporting a diverse range of mechanical and electrical equipment. You will work on‑site, collaborating with production, engineering and contractors to keep plant operations safe and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical systems such as pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, bearings, gearboxes, transmissions, brakes and drive linkages.
• Maintain pumps, valves, piping and fluid handling systems, including centrifugal, gear, vane, auger, screw and pneumatic diaphragm pumps.
• Service electrical and control components: motors, drives, PLCs, I/O modules, sensors, wiring, fuses and safety devices.
• Perform preventive, predictive and emergency maintenance on production equipment, material handling systems and facility utilities.
• Install, rig, lift and align machinery using powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, WAVs).
• Manage work orders, parts procurement and maintenance documentation within the Maintenance Management System.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams, provide technical training, and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or higher.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military setting.
• Availability for weekend work, overtime, rotating shifts and short‑notice coverage.
• Experience operating forklifts and WAVs.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Pneumatic and hydraulic system maintenance.
