Plant Engineering Supervisor

About the role

3M is seeking a Plant Engineering Supervisor to lead the maintenance functions that support production of its products at the Nevada, MO facility. The role combines hands‑on technical direction with supervisory responsibilities to drive equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to Plant Engineering personnel for maintenance of machines, systems, and facilities, including oversight of custodial, stockroom, and security functions as needed.
• Schedule, assign, and direct staff to perform maintenance tasks, diagnose equipment problems, and ensure work follows correct procedures and quality standards.
• Identify and support initiatives that improve equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement projects such as Kaizens.
• Promote a safe and sustainable work environment by modeling safe behaviors and addressing safety‑related issues.
• Represent plant leadership on alternative shift coverage, on‑call duties, and serve as a primary management representative for the plant.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with eight years of manufacturing or maintenance experience, or an Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance with four years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a private, public, government, or military setting.
• Experience participating in daily tier management processes and improvement projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically and ability to relocate if authorized.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
