TEM Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a TEM Engineer to support semiconductor and display process activities. You will perform advanced transmission electron microscopy analyses and develop atomic‑scale characterization solutions that drive technology road‑maps.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily TEM analysis, including microstructure, chemical analysis, electron diffraction, EDS and EELS.
• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, and compile technical reports.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement new technologies.
• Generate internal and external documentation and present findings to customers.
• Measure film properties, interpret results, and collaborate with vendors and suppliers.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or a semiconductor‑related field.
• Strong background in materials characterization using TEM.
• Programming experience with AI and Python.
• Self‑motivated team player with creative problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of semiconductor processes, crystallography and diffraction.
