MUSiC Test Engineer I – Semiconductor Test and Characterization

About the role

The Test Engineer I will develop, qualify, implement, and sustain wafer‑level and device‑level electrical test and characterization methods for the National Multi‑User Silicon Carbide (MUSiC) Research and Fabrication Facility. The role supports research, customer‑sponsored projects, prototype fabrication, product qualification, and low‑volume semiconductor manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test methods, define test conditions and acceptance criteria, and support equipment selection and qualification.
• Analyze electrical and product‑performance data, identify trends, anomalies, and potential failure mechanisms, and correlate results with fabrication history.
• Support product qualification, reliability evaluation, failure investigation, root‑cause analysis, yield improvement, and technical reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, interns, and student researchers.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a technical field with at least five years of semiconductor test experience.
• Minimum five years developing and sustaining wafer‑level or package electrical test methods.
• Extensive experience analyzing test data, supporting product qualification, and troubleshooting test equipment.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to controlled facilities.
