Director of Operations for Anthony Timberland Research Facility

About the role

The Anthony Timberland Center Director of Operations manages daily operations and business planning for the newly built, state‑of‑the‑art research and teaching facility. This in‑person role works closely with the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design faculty and administration to develop long‑term strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring high efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Control financial budgets and supervise staff to support the research and teaching agenda.
• Collaborate with faculty to advance research projects and grant support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science, engineering, or design discipline.
• At least five years of professional lab experience and two years in a leadership role.
• Experience with contemporary fabrication technologies such as CNC machining, 3D printing, and robotics.

Required skills

• CNC router, CNC lathe, CNC mill operation.
• 3D printing and robotics integration.
• CAM software, 3D modeling, Arduino programming.
• Traditional woodworking and metalworking techniques.
