Team Leader 1st Shift MV Packing Team

About the role

ABB is hiring a Team Leader for its 1st shift MV packing team. The position reports to the Shipping Supervisor and focuses on meeting customer orders on time, tracking and verifying products for distribution, and supporting a disciplined, safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Model and support a culture where team members follow job expectations, company and department policies and procedures.
• Share observations with the Supervisor to improve individual and team capability, and reinforce ABB Values in Action.
• Follow environmental and safety regulations affecting operations.
• Meet customer order specifications on time and record product, packaging and order information on the specified forms.
• Use equipment to track, monitor and verify products for distribution, and communicate effectively with other teams.
• Apply problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, recommend improvements and training, and coach team members.
• Provide input to the Supervisor on team strengths and improvement opportunities, and promote teamwork between teams and organizations.
• Plan and organize your own work and the work of others, model a high work ethic and consistent daily routine, and overtime is required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of manufacturing experience in assembly, fabrication or logistics, with experience related to the processes in the area.
• Work authorization that permits working for ABB in the US.
• Ability to work in a high pace environment and to advance in a teaming environment.

Required skills

• Strong people skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Good problem-solving skills and understanding of lean and continuous improvement.
• Hand tools such as pallet jacks and pallet banders.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft and SAP.
