CDL Driver

About the role

Richelieu, a North American distributor, importer and manufacturer of specialty hardware, is looking for a CDL-A or CDL-B driver to join its distribution team. The driver reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and works with the team to deliver complete, accurate and on-time orders while representing the company professionally, safely and cost-effectively in compliance with DOT and other regulations. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Plan the most efficient routes so orders arrive on time and meet customer needs.
• Load the truck, secure items and check shipping papers for accuracy.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes and fluids, and carry out preventive maintenance.
• Maintain contact with the company during deliveries and document delivery accuracy and customer receipt, reporting any discrepancies.
• Keep the truck and driving record up to date and follow company policies and procedures.
• Collect customer feedback and resolve complaints, then pass the information back to the company.
• Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required, and perform occasional warehouse and counter duties.
• Stay proficient in computerized systems and other technologies as required.

Required profile

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a DOT medical examiner certificate.
• Good driving record.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Team player, dedicated and reliable.
