Tax Accountant – Public Accounting with Year‑Round Work

About the role

Burds & Kuntz is seeking a Tax Accountant to join a collaborative, client‑focused CPA firm. You will work on complex, high‑impact tax engagements for corporate, partnership, and individual clients, enjoying consistent year‑round work and strong mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and support tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
• Handle multi‑state tax filings for large corporate clients.
• Assist with complex corporate and pass‑through entity returns, including S‑Corps.
• Analyze financial data to support accurate tax filings.
• Collaborate with team members to divide large engagements and manage deadlines.
• Participate in tax planning and year‑end strategy for ongoing clients.
• Work closely with Tax Directors for coaching and feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting or a relevant internship.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.
• Interest in a long‑term public accounting tax career and intent to pursue CPA certification.
