About the role

Phelps Health Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Surgical Orthopedics team on a full‑time basis. The position offers a sign‑on bonus of up to $30,000 and provides the opportunity to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, and safe patient handling.
• Maintain central lines and implement measures to prevent surgical site infections.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, document care activities, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Missouri or Compact licensure; graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days.
• One year of nursing experience preferred, but new graduate nurses are considered.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Competence in central line care and maintenance.
• Knowledge of infection prevention protocols.
