RN Shift Manager – Acute Rehab (0.9 Full-Time, A-Shift)

About the role

The Nursing Shift Manager (NSM) leads the acute rehab unit during the A‑shift, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care and supporting staff in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce hospital safety policies, monitor staff compliance, and coach team members on infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Provide direct nursing care, medication administration, patient/family education, and maintain central line care.
• Oversee quality initiatives, assess patient status, review and cosign LPN admission assessments, and give constructive feedback.
• Document patient care accurately, complete NSM paperwork (daily sheets, staffing logs), and communicate pertinent information to physicians and families.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, foster teamwork, and support process changes to achieve quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Missouri (or Compact) and Basic Life Support certification.
• At least one year of registered nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb, stand, walk, and perform frequent patient handling activities.
