Supply Chain Internship - Transportation

About the role

Dot Transportation Inc., part of Dot Foods, offers a Supply Chain internship focused on transportation, based in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. It sits within the Traffic, Safety and Dispatch department and reports to the Department Manager. The pay range is $16.50 - $18.50. The internship runs for a minimum of 350 hours during the summer of 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Train and shadow to understand workflows and business needs across the company
• Own assigned project(s) and take part in a team project with other interns
• Define problems, research, collect and analyse data to find the best ways to solve them
• Review, update and track a variety of reports
• Present project results at the end of the internship, including findings, analysis and recommendations
• Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste

Required profile

• Full-time student in good standing actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Willingness to attend business, company-specific and personal development training events
• Potential for minimal overnight travel; ability to travel without restriction by all modes of transportation
• Visa sponsorship is not available

Nice to have

• Degree work towards a Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Management, Logistics, Business, Math or a related field
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication
• Leadership experience
