Part-Time Dispatch Clerk

About the role

Dot Transportation, a subsidiary of Dot Foods, is hiring a part-time Dispatch Clerk in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. You will schedule and maintain customer delivery and supplier pick-up appointments, enter data across several systems and carry out clerical duties supporting the Dispatch Department and Logistics Planners. The position reports to the Customer Delivery Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule appointments with customers and suppliers before the deadline
• Communicate by email, through company portals and by phone
• Enter confirmed appointment times accurately into the system
• Enter and update operating systems with accurate data, such as receiving hours and customer notes
• Communicate with internal and external customers
• Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in the role

Required profile

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
• Excellent mathematical and reading skills
• Administrative or clerical experience preferred

Required skills

• Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Good organizational skills

• Part-time schedule of 3-4 days per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
