Structural Project Engineer

About the role

The Structural Project Engineer will work on structural design projects for LBYD in Alabama, supporting both design and project management activities. The role involves preparing complete plan sets, specifications, and reports while mentoring junior designers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Design Engineer and manage small projects.
• Prepare design plan sets, structural specifications, and detailed reports for project approval.
• Coordinate with management on major project decisions, including client contact, design, cost, and schedule.
• Provide technical guidance to design engineers and may conduct site visits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Minimum 2 years of design‑related experience.
• Progress toward or passed the Professional Engineering (PE) exam.

Required skills

• Proficiency with LBYD’s structural design software.
• Ability to produce complete drawing sets that meet industry standards.
• Strong technical communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
