Senior Project Manager – Structural

About the role

The Senior Project Manager – Structural will lead and coordinate all aspects of structural engineering projects for LBYD in Birmingham, Alabama. This full‑time position requires overseeing project delivery from inception through completion while maintaining client relationships and ensuring quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project delivery team, including designers, reviewers, administrators, and subconsultants, and coordinate shared services such as contracting, accounting, and legal.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and quality control programs, providing regular updates and solutions to clients.
• Manage contract administration, ensuring scope compliance, handling RFIs, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
• Oversee production of design deliverables, construction phase services, and client communications to achieve superior client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Registered Architect (RA) license.
• 11‑15 years of project management experience, including at least 5 years of design experience on large, complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong verbal and technical writing skills, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
