Strategic Account Manager – Agricultural Solutions (Western US)

About the role
BASF Agricultural Solutions is looking for a Strategic Account Manager to serve key customers across the western United States (CA, AZ, WA, ID, OR). The role combines field sales, business development and partnership management to drive growth of BASF’s crop protection portfolio while supporting sustainable agriculture.
Key responsibilities
- Manage long‑term relationships with strategic accounts, delivering value through BASF products, services and solutions.
- Develop and execute a three‑year business plan with channel partners aligned to BASF’s strategic goals.
- Communicate BASF’s strategy across all levels of partner organizations to ensure alignment.
- Collaborate with regional and district managers to create mutually profitable business solutions.
- Identify new business opportunities and coordinate internal resources to support growth.
- Maintain deep market knowledge and local expertise in western specialty‑crop agronomy.
Required profile
- 13‑15 years of experience in account management, field sales, marketing or business development within agriculture.
- At least 2 years in the current role, demonstrating career stability.
- Willingness to travel a minimum of 70% of the time, primarily domestically.
- Residence in one of the western states (CA, AZ, WA, OR, ID).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agricultural Business, Science or related field (MBA preferred).
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
