Staff Software Engineer

About the role

SafeLease is seeking a driven Staff Software Engineer to lead development across our product stack. You will work on both front‑end and back‑end systems, shaping the future of our insurance platform while collaborating closely with leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and ship high‑quality code across the entire platform, setting technical standards.
• Design scalable, customer‑centric solutions in partnership with Product.
• Own issue resolution: triage, prioritize, and resolve system‑level problems while guiding best practices.
• Mentor teammates, share expertise, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• 7+ years of full‑stack software development experience delivering complex features at scale.
• Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to lead cross‑functional discussions.

Required skills

• Frontend: TypeScript, JavaScript, React.
• Backend: Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs.
• Infrastructure: Relational databases, Git, AWS.
• Familiarity with modern tooling such as Linear, Claude Code, and AI‑enhanced development tools.
