Director of Data & Analytics

About the role

SafeLease is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Director of Data & Analytics to lead analytics across its insurance and real‑estate investment operations. The role combines vision‑setting with the ability to execute, driving data‑driven decisions in a fast‑growing, profitable MGA.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the analytics strategy, covering data collection, management, modeling and insight generation for both insurance and investment portfolios.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing analytics team while remaining ready to perform hands‑on analysis, dashboard creation and KPI development.
• Establish data governance standards to ensure quality, consistency and compliance across the enterprise.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Product and Technology leaders to embed analytics rigor in key initiatives.
• Develop reporting platforms for underwriting optimization, claims performance, financial forecasting and portfolio performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of leadership experience managing analytics teams.
• 10+ years in analytics, data strategy or business intelligence, preferably in a fast‑moving start‑up environment.
• Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically, delivering measurable impact with limited infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex data into executive‑ready insights.
