Staff Software Engineer, Continuity

About the role

Rad AI is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of its Continuity product, a care‑coordination platform that ensures critical radiology findings are acted upon. You will work with a cross‑functional team of full‑stack, ML, and product engineers to build reliable, scalable, and HIPAA‑compliant web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement large‑scale progressive and single‑page web applications that improve radiology workflow efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Python FastAPI backend services, including REST APIs and machine‑learning pipelines.
• Write secure, maintainable code that meets internal standards for a high‑scale HIPAA environment.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and customer success teams to iterate on features and resolve defects.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and best‑practice guidance.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in single‑tenant and multi‑tenant systems.
• Strong knowledge of Python and FastAPI (or equivalent modern frameworks).
• Experience with relational and document databases and large‑scale data storage.
• Proven ability to solve performance and optimization challenges at scale.
• Experience working on distributed teams with solid Git version‑control practices.
