Staff ML Systems Engineer

About the role

Quilter is building the infrastructure that moves machine‑learning research from prototype to production for automated PCB component placement. The role is fully remote within a distributed team and requires high autonomy and ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ML infrastructure covering training, evaluation, serving, and monitoring.
• Own data pipelines for generation, cleaning, validation, and versioning.
• Develop and improve experiment tracking, orchestration, and reproducibility tooling.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and A/B testing infrastructure.
• Lead design‑review processes and guide architectural decisions as the team scales.

Required profile

• 7+ years of industry experience building and operating production‑grade ML systems.
• Proven end‑to‑end delivery of ML systems, including training pipelines and serving infrastructure.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and systems‑design sensibility.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Experience with GPU‑accelerated workloads and orchestration.
• Hands‑on expertise in CI/CD pipelines and A/B testing frameworks.
• Deep familiarity with data pipeline construction, versioning, and validation.
• Proficiency in experiment management and reproducibility tooling.
