Senior ML Engineer

About the role

Quilter is building AI to automate component placement on printed circuit boards. As a Senior ML Engineer on the Placer team, you will tackle a hard combinatorial problem using machine learning, optimization, and geometric deep learning.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end development from exploratory R&D to production‑hardened, maintainable systems.
• Develop and extend GPU‑accelerated code in PyTorch and CUDA C++.
• Work across a broad modeling landscape including reinforcement learning, graph neural networks, black‑box optimization, and generative modeling.
• Formulate objectives, model constraints, and debug numerical behavior throughout the stack.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning, optimization, or a related field.
• Strong fundamentals in ML and optimization with production‑grade PyTorch experience.
• Proven ability to move between research and production codebases.
• Comfort operating with high autonomy in ambiguous problem spaces.
