Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer – Media & Entertainment

About the role

Qumulo is seeking a Senior Pre‑Sales Systems Engineer to work with top media and entertainment companies in the Los Angeles basin. You will design and position high‑performance storage solutions for ingest, editing, rendering, and long‑term content preservation, acting as a trusted advisor and champion for customer success.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex media requirements into scalable cloud and hybrid architectures, creating tailored solutions aligned with customer environments.
• Support the full sales cycle: prepare technical proposals, respond to RFPs, perform whitespace analysis, and guide deal strategy and forecasting.
• Lead strategic customer engagements, partnering with sales, executives, OEM specialists, and partners to identify and advance opportunities.
• Deliver hands‑on product demonstrations and proof‑of‑concept deployments to validate solutions.
• Stay current on industry trends, refine go‑to‑market strategies, and create thought‑leadership content such as case studies and white papers.

Required profile

• 5+ years in pre‑sales engineering, with 3–5 years focused on cloud, unstructured data, and file/object storage technologies.
• Strong expertise in media & entertainment applications, workflows, and high‑performance rendering.
• Proven ability to build long‑term customer relationships, conduct technical discovery, and deliver value‑based solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, storage) preferred.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid storage architectures.
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Unix/BSD.
• Storage protocols: SMB, NFS, S3.
• Experience with edge, datacenter, and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with competitive storage technologies (NetApp, Dell PowerScale, VAST Data, Pure Storage, Ceph, Lustre, Scality, Weka).
