Spring/Summer 2027 LS Engineering Co‑op

About the role

Join Alcon’s Vision Care Manufacturing team in Johns Creek, Georgia, for a Spring/Summer 2027 co‑op with the LS Process Excellence team. You will support manufacturing performance improvements and help implement changes in a state‑of‑the‑art contact lens production facility.

Key responsibilities

• Support LS3 overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) improvement initiatives by reviewing performance data and identifying loss‑reduction opportunities.
• Plan, document, and execute engineering studies to evaluate proposed process or equipment improvements.
• Analyze study results, summarize findings, and present recommendations to project stakeholders.
• Develop change requests and supporting documentation for approved concepts.
• Collaborate across production, maintenance, engineering, and management to implement and sustain improvements.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited university for at least one semester prior to and one semester after the co‑op.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, Project Management, Learning & Development, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
• Demonstrated leadership through extracurricular activities or projects.
• Authorized to work in the US permanently (F‑1 visa with CPT accepted).
• Ability to commit to a full‑time (40 hrs/week) spring + summer co‑op.

Required skills

• Ability to analyze discrete and continuous data, identify trends, and communicate conclusions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with production technicians, mechanics, engineers, and managers.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and physics principles.
• Basic proficiency with computers and data‑analysis tools; experience with Excel, Power BI, Python, MATLAB is a plus.
