Specimen Technician – 3‑Month Contract

About the role

Pride Health is seeking a Specimen Technician to join a medical facility in Irving, TX on a three‑month contract, with potential to transition to a permanent position. The role involves high‑volume specimen processing during overnight shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing tasks such as presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, and imaging.
• Enter high‑volume data accurately (6,000+ keystrokes per hour).
• Handle various specimen types and associated test orders.
• Follow safety, biohazard, and compliance regulations.
• Maintain productivity standards and keep the work area clean and organized.

Required profile

• Strong data‑entry speed and accuracy (6,000+ keystrokes/hour).
• Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with medical/lab terminology is a plus.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to learn different specimen types and compliance rules.
• Comfortable working in a production and biohazard environment.
• Flexible schedule – night shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
