Specialty Equipment Manager

About the role

Alcon is seeking a results‑driven Specialty Equipment Manager to promote and sell surgical ophthalmic products and specialized clinical equipment such as Voyager™ DSLT and Valeda® Light Delivery System. This field‑based position focuses on building strong relationships with ophthalmic clinics and achieving capital equipment sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Drive face‑to‑face sales for high‑value clinical equipment in specialty and general ophthalmic clinics.
• Promote adoption of treatment packages linked to the equipment to maximize account value and patient benefit.
• Develop clinic workflow strategies to optimize productivity through equipment and consumable pull‑through.
• Identify strategic opportunities within accounts and execute tailored sales strategies to exceed revenue targets.
• Build strong relationships with physicians, technicians and administrative staff.
• Deliver product presentations, proposals and hands‑on demonstrations highlighting clinical and economic value.
• Provide post‑sale training and support to ensure successful implementation and long‑term satisfaction.
• Collaborate with marketing, clinical specialists and service teams to support promotional efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline progress and customer interactions using Salesforce.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school + 10 years, associate + 6 years, or higher).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in ophthalmology, capital equipment or clinic‑based environments.
• Fluent reading, writing and communication skills in English.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with clinical stakeholders.
