SOX Manager – Business Process & IT Application Controls

About the role

The SOX Manager for Business Process and IT Application Controls (ITAC) leads the day‑to‑day execution and continuous improvement of BILL’s Sarbanes‑Oxley Section 404 compliance program. This senior finance role partners with process and IT owners to maintain a robust internal control environment as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual SOX compliance lifecycle, including scoping, risk assessment, documentation, testing coordination and deficiency remediation.
• Serve as primary liaison between business owners, internal audit and external auditors to ensure efficient audit execution.
• Drive control rationalization, automation and GRC tool utilization to streamline operations.
• Manage change‑impact assessments for new financial systems and corporate initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years in a large public accounting firm or fintech, focusing on SOX 404 audits and ICFR for accelerated filers.
• CPA or CIA preferred; CISA a plus.
• Experience in high‑growth fintech or technology environments.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of SOX Section 404, COSO framework and PCAOB standards.
• Hands‑on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and GRC tools.
