Sorter Operator (Operator III)

About the role

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. is hiring an Operator III (Sorter Operator) for its Wellford, SC office. The role works with Operations Leadership to understand, manage and balance the conveyor flow out of the picking module, while supporting the overall workflow, resolving sorter issues and upholding TTI's safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and monitor sorter, conveyor and merge controls to keep carton flow efficient through the diverter system.
• Resolve promptly cartons rejected after passing the sorter, and help research escalated rejects to find root causes, including label quality or placement issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, report unsafe conditions or equipment problems, and carry out prescribed equipment maintenance.
• Clear jams accessible without aerial work platforms (AWP); escalate jams requiring an AWP or system repairs to Maintenance Support.
• Use systems such as WCS, SAP and PLC history data to research carton issues, lane full conditions, route verification and provide daily statistics.
• Advise leadership verbally and in writing to reduce bottlenecks, improve carton flow and level staffing, and recommend improvements to warehouse operations.
• Help build a strong, collaborative team and comply with safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years in a maintenance-related field and one or more years of related experience.
• No final warnings and no more than 6 attendance points.
• Efficiency and quality goals met for the previous 3 months.
• Must be in the current role for 6+ months and meet all job description requirements.

Required skills

• PC literacy with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems and SAP.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures.
