Software Engineer, Test Internship

About the role

Revel is looking for a Software Engineering – Test Intern to help build and maintain the infrastructure that continuously tests software against real and simulated hardware. You will work at the intersection of software, hardware, and automation, gaining hands‑on experience with HIL test systems and CI/CD pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing systems.
• Write Python scripts and automation to improve testing workflows.
• Integrate test equipment, instrumentation, and hardware into automated environments.
• Contribute to continuous integration (CI) and testing infrastructure.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot failures across software, hardware, and test infrastructure.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.).
• Rising junior or senior graduating in 2027 or 2028.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
• Interest in software testing, automation, and hardware‑software integration.
• US citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirement).

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Linux or command‑line tools.
• CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Docker or virtual‑machine environments.
• Networking and communication debugging.
• Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, or test equipment.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, or robotics.
• Knowledge of Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) or Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SIL) concepts.
• Basic understanding of Rust, C, or C++ (optional).
