Software Developer – Applications Development

About the role

Join the Applications Development team at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance as a Software Developer. You will work under the guidance of senior developers to design, code, test, and document applications that support our insurance and financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Write, unit‑test, and document code for internal applications.
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases.
• Research and resolve production issues reported to the Help Desk.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to address after‑hours production problems.
• Provide technical support to the IS department and business users.
• Document progress, research, and status in Azure DevOps.
• Communicate regularly with business users about testing and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and act with integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one high‑level programming language.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Visual Studio, Git, C#.NET Framework, XML, HTML, JSON, and AQT.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for work tracking.
