Senior IT Administrator – Onsite (Dallas)

About the role

Waabi is expanding its Texas operations and needs an on‑site senior IT professional to support critical initiatives such as network upgrades, compute and storage clusters, and on‑vehicle technical assistance. This full‑time position will work closely with engineering, research, and facilities teams to ensure a reliable and secure IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, expand, and maintain high‑performance networks, compute, and storage infrastructure.
• Lead security initiatives, ensure compliance, and manage incident response planning and execution.
• Deploy, maintain, and upgrade a fleet of Linux servers, automating deployments with tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Document network and server infrastructure rigorously and coordinate with facility management for HVAC, cabling, and UPS reliability.
• Continuously identify opportunities to automate and improve systems.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and customer‑service mindset.
• Proven experience building high‑performance compute clusters and scaling highly available storage clusters.
• Hands‑on experience with container orchestration and multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Ability to work on‑site five days a week and handle physical tasks up to ~50 lb.
• Open‑minded, collaborative team player willing to take ownership.
