Senior Systems Engineer – Hybrid Cloud Storage (Southeast)

About the role

Qumulo is seeking a senior technical resource to lead customer engagements across the Southeast region. You will partner with sales and customers throughout the sales cycle, designing and delivering hybrid‑cloud storage solutions for a variety of workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical relationship on customer opportunities, from discovery and demos through proofs‑of‑concept and architecture sign‑off.
• Partner with account teams to qualify deals and shape technical strategies for unstructured data, performance, scale, and hybrid cloud needs.
• Design and validate solutions for file services, backup, analytics, AI/ML, and cloud‑adjacent applications.
• Build and maintain technical assets such as reference architectures, demo content, solution briefs, and competitive positioning.

Required profile

• 6+ years in a customer‑facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Pre‑Sales Engineer) within software, storage, or technology.
• Proven track record leading complex pre‑sales engagements end‑to‑end with measurable results.
• Strong grounding in enterprise storage, file systems, and unstructured data management across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Experience supporting or selling hybrid cloud solutions and multi‑cloud data management.

Required skills

• File protocols: NFS, SMB, object storage.
• Public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud (including services such as S3, Azure Files).
• Familiarity with storage solutions like Isilon, PowerScale, NetApp, Pure, VAST, Weka, Scality.
• Containers and orchestration: Kubernetes, DevOps workflows.
• Capacity planning, performance optimization, and TCO analysis.
