Senior Software Engineer - Desktop (Rust/Tauri)

About the role

Read AI is building a unified desktop experience that captures meeting audio, provides transcripts, and generates outcomes. As a Senior Software Engineer you will shape the core of this product, working at the intersection of Rust, Tauri, and native OS capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship features that create a seamless flow for preparing, capturing, and reviewing meetings.
• Own the native layer, expanding audio capture on Windows and macOS and integrating external hardware for higher quality.
• Investigate on‑device transcription, audio processing, and additional AI signals.
• Maintain high‑quality Rust code with strong tests, clear structure, and scalable interfaces.
• Manage end‑to‑end release processes including signing, notarization, auto‑updates, and crash telemetry.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on desktop or client applications.
• Experience shipping installed software to real users on Windows, macOS, or both and providing post‑launch support.
• Proficiency in Rust or comparable systems language and willingness to work in Rust.
• Comfortable working across the native/web boundary, including React and TypeScript.
• Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
