Senior Member of Technical Staff

About the role

Qumulo is looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to design and build core components of its distributed storage platform. You will work on the file system and block layer written in C and Rust, solving complex problems in concurrency, fault‑tolerance, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement features across the file system and underlying block layer using C and Rust.
• Debug and resolve correctness bugs that appear under real‑world workloads across protocols, caches, networks, and object stores.
• Take designs from concept through to production‑ready code, ensuring high quality and performance.
• Prototype and evaluate new ideas, bringing promising concepts to the team.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience building systems software such as file systems, kernels, database engines, or distributed data paths.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed systems, including concurrency, consistency, failure handling, and recovery.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust and daily use of AI‑assisted coding tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
