Senior Site Civil Engineer

About the role

HDR is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer to lead the design and planning of civil infrastructure across a variety of projects. The role involves overseeing site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and related civil engineering activities while ensuring quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and plan general civil works, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading, drainage, paving, and utilities.
• Perform quantity calculations and prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Conduct permitting processes and manage complex engineering assignments.
• Serve as a technical expert, resolving advanced engineering problems.
• Plan and develop projects with significant impact on major company programs.
• Organize and supervise medium to large teams of professionals and technicians.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience managing civil/site design projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Project engineering and project management experience.
• Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Bluebeam Revu.
• Familiarity with civil engineering software.
