Senior Site Civil BIM Designer

About the role

HDR is seeking a Senior Site Civil BIM Designer to lead the creation of civil engineering models and construction documents for a variety of infrastructure projects, including federal, power, water, and industrial facilities. The role combines advanced Civil 3D modeling with BIM execution to support high‑performance, sustainable design.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with project managers, engineers, and multi‑discipline teams.
• Produce and manage site civil construction documents for diverse client sectors.
• Model and draft site surveys, layouts, grading, drainage, storm‑water systems, roadways, erosion control, landscaping, and utilities using Civil 3D.
• Develop gravity and pressure pipe network models.
• Set up and maintain project files and layer standards in Civil 3D, mentoring junior staff.
• Prepare construction drawings that comply with HDR and client CAD standards.
• Create BIM execution plans for the civil discipline and coordinate with BIM leads to ensure project compliance.
• Apply deep knowledge of earthwork, surfaces, grading, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in civil engineering design and BIM implementation.
• Proven ability to lead and train team members on Civil 3D workflows.
• Strong understanding of site civil concepts and how they integrate with other engineering disciplines.
