Senior Mobile Engineer – BLE & Device Connectivity

About the role

Beacon Biosignals is building an at‑home EEG platform to transform precision medicine for brain disorders. As a Senior Mobile Engineer you will create the native iOS and Android Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) layer that connects EEG headbands and other wearables to our mobile applications used by patients and clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of native iOS and Android BLE SDKs, ensuring reliable pairing, reconnection, and high‑throughput data streaming.
• Collaborate with the Devices team on firmware interfaces, GATT profiles, and device behavior.
• Expose device capabilities to React Native apps via well‑tested native modules.
• Implement observability tools, telemetry and diagnostics to monitor connectivity in the field.
• Contribute to the roadmap and technical direction of the mobile platform.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional mobile development experience with strong native expertise in iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin).
• Hands‑on experience integrating BLE peripherals into production apps, including background operation and performance optimization.
• Rigorous focus on reliability, edge‑case handling, and device fragmentation.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in an asynchronous, collaborative environment.

Required skills

• Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) development.
• Core Bluetooth, Android BLE APIs, GATT profiling.
• Sensor integration and streaming health data from wearables.
• React Native native module development (optional but preferred).
• Version control with GitHub.
