Senior Manager, Revenue and Billing

About the role

The Senior Manager, Revenue and Billing owns Billtrust’s end‑to‑end billing operations and revenue recognition function, leveraging AI tools to automate reconciliation, exception detection, and reporting across the quote‑to‑cash cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage global revenue accounting and monthly close in accordance with ASC 606, U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
• Own end‑to‑end billing operations, monitor KPIs such as time‑to‑bill and backlog, and use AI‑powered tools to flag anomalies.
• Design, implement and enhance SOX‑compliant internal controls and prepare documentation for external audits.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A and IT on deal structuring, process improvement and technology stack decisions.
• Lead a global team of 11, including two people‑managers, hiring, training and developing talent.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue recognition and billing operations, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to manage people‑managers and build distributed teams of at least 10 members.
• Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606, contract modifications, principal vs. agent considerations and SSP studies.
• Experience with billing and ERP systems such as BillingPlatform, Sage Intacct (or equivalents).
• Proficiency with CRM platforms, specifically Salesforce.
• Design and implementation of SOX‑compliant controls in a quote‑to‑cash environment.
• Track record of driving AI adoption in finance processes.
