Senior Health & Benefits Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Senior Health & Benefits Consultant to join its Health & Benefits team within the People and Investments business. The role is based in Chicago, IL, and is hybrid, with at least three days a week spent in the office. You will support consulting engagements with 2,000+ life employers on their medical, dental, life and disability benefit plans, negotiating with carriers and vendors and acting as a strategic account manager and often the Marsh relationship manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex client engagements, including service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking and other studies.
• Develop benefits design and renewal strategies, and build tools and solutions for complex client issues.
• Define the full scope of services and set roles and responsibilities within the client team.
• Communicate Marsh's position on the latest industry trends to clients.
• Be accountable for revenue and profitability of client accounts and projects, and monitor scope, budget, timeliness and client satisfaction.
• Set strategic direction, create demand for new products and services, and manage new business opportunities with sales channel partners.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree.
• At least 5 years of experience identifying, designing, recommending and implementing business solutions for complex healthcare benefit plans.
• Client-facing experience in a consulting capacity.
• Renowned expertise and reputation in the health and benefits field.
• Nice to have: Life and Health license, strong sales and marketing skills, proven management of large, complex projects.

• Base salary range of $88,000 to $176,000, depending on experience, skills, location and other factors; possible performance-based incentives.
