Senior Executive Compensation Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Senior Executive Compensation Consultant to join its Career team, based in Chicago, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland or Columbus. The role is hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office, and clients may be located anywhere in the United States, with some travel expected. You will lead the design and implementation of executive compensation programs, including short- and long-term incentive plans, overall executive pay strategy and other total rewards topics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage client engagements on executive compensation strategy, including pay benchmarking, incentive plan design and pay structure modernization.
• Develop and run business development initiatives to grow Marsh's Rewards presence in key US markets.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to HR and business leadership teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design integrated total rewards solutions.
• Advise clients across industries and ownership structures on executive pay considerations.
• Oversee project teams to deliver high-quality recommendations and presentations on time.
• Mentor consulting talent and stay up to date on market trends, regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience delivering executive compensation or total rewards solutions.
• Ability to lead sales, manage project delivery and nurture client relationships.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing compensation programs for executives and/or broader employee populations.
• Proven track record in achieving sales goals and managing complex projects.
• Knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks affecting compensation programs.
• Experience in market-facing activities such as conference presentations.

Required skills

• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
• Comfortable in an environment that uses AI and technology-enabled tools.

• Base salary range of $165,500 to $331,000, depending on experience, skills, location and other factors; possible performance-based incentives.
