Senior Consultant, Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

The Senior Consultant on the Employee Health & Benefits (EH&B) team advises clients on designing, implementing and managing employee benefit programs that fit their business goals and talent strategy. The role works closely with clients' HR and finance leaders, balancing cost, compliance and employee engagement. It is based in Boston (101 Huntington Ave.) or Worcester (100 Front St.) on a hybrid basis: 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary benefits advisor for a portfolio of mid-to-large market clients, covering plan design, funding, compliance and vendor management.
• Lead client meetings, renewal strategies and annual planning with internal account management and analytics teams.
• Evaluate and recommend medical, dental, vision, life, disability and voluntary benefit options.
• Analyze claims data and benchmark information to identify cost drivers and recommend actions.
• Help clients navigate legislative and compliance requirements such as ACA, ERISA, COBRA and HIPAA.
• Partner with carriers and vendors to negotiate renewals and support service excellence.
• Mentor Consultants, Account Managers and Analysts on the EH&B team.
• Take part in business development, including finalist meetings and proposal and presentation work.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting or a related role within a brokerage, carrier or HR department.
• Strong knowledge of health and welfare plan design, compliance and funding arrangements.
• Exceptional client relationship management skills and executive presence.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and turn insights into strategic recommendations.
• Licensed in Life & Health, or able to obtain the license upon hire.

• Base salary of $92,400 to $172,100, depending on experience, skills, location and other factors, plus possible performance-based incentives.
