About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is seeking a Senior Financial Markets Specialist to join its Financial Markets Group. In this role you will conduct data‑driven research on financial‑market policy issues and help shape analysis that supports monetary policy and financial‑system stability.

Key responsibilities

• Produce research reports and public presentations on financial‑market topics.
• Support internal policy analysis related to monetary policy and financial stability.
• Prepare written analysis and briefings for the Reserve Bank President, senior leaders, and external policymakers.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to a collaborative, collegial work environment.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, public policy, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in industry, regulatory, or academic roles.
• Deep knowledge of domestic and global financial markets and market infrastructures.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project‑management abilities.
• Commitment to public service and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data analysis using R.
• Proficiency in data analysis using Python.
