Senior Director, Labor & Associate Relations

About the role

The Senior Director, Labor & Associate Relations leads the strategy to manage and enhance relationships between the organization and its associates across the assigned region. Reporting to the VP of Labor Relations, the role partners with senior leaders to promote a people‑first culture and ensure compliance with labor laws.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee associate engagement initiatives tailored to regional needs and act as lead sponsor of the Breakthru Experience.
• Prepare, negotiate and renew collective bargaining agreements, monitor compliance with labor laws, and advise management on union matters.
• Collect and analyze data on associate satisfaction, turnover and labor issues; prepare reports for regional leadership.
• Oversee training programs for managers and associates on conflict resolution, grievance handling and union relations.
• Foster strong relationships with associates, management and union representatives to promote collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in labor relations or associate relations, preferably in union environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and reporting abilities, and capacity to influence outcomes with professionalism and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced PC skills using MS Office and presentation software.
• Ability to analyze data, prepare reports and deliver presentations.
