Senior Benefits Compliance Specialist

About the role

Vensure Employer Solutions is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to oversee compliance for its PEO Master Benefit Plans. This non‑client‑facing position provides research, guidance, and documentation support to internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor ACA compliance, including shared‑responsibility provisions and annual 1094‑C/1095‑C reporting.
• Prepare, review, and file Form 5500 annual reports and coordinate with third‑party administrators and auditors.
• Track federal and state benefit regulations (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) and communicate updates.
• Complete Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage disclosures and state‑specific filings such as Massachusetts HIRD.
• Serve as the primary compliance subject‑matter expert for Benefits Administration and other client‑facing departments.
• Develop and maintain compliance documentation, SOPs, FAQs, and compliance calendars.
• Train and mentor team members on compliance processes and audit readiness.
• Perform periodic audits of benefit plan data, generate compliance reports, and support open enrollment and plan renewal reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 2‑4 years of benefits compliance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, Medicare Part D, Form 5500, and state filing requirements.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to translate complex regulations into practical guidance.
• Excellent written communication and collaborative, energetic style.
