Senior Algorithm Engineer

About the role

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Senior Algorithm Engineer to lead the development of machine‑learning models that analyze brain and biosignal data for sleep, neurological, and psychiatric therapy research. This fully remote position works within a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, neuroscientists, engineers, and clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end biosignal algorithm lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data curation to production deployment and maintenance.
• Select and implement the most suitable methods, balancing deep‑learning techniques with traditional DSP and statistical approaches.
• Enhance internal ML tools, introduce new model architectures, and improve code reusability for rapid experimentation.
• Ensure best‑practice implementation with thorough testing, documentation, CI/CD pipelines, and non‑regression testing.
• Present results to stakeholders and support client‑facing projects, guiding the use of algorithms in deployed products.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning/deep learning, preferably in health‑science or regulated environments.
• Strong background in digital signal processing and statistics, with the ability to choose the right tool for each problem.
• Proven track record of taking algorithms from research to production.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical topics to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PyTorch or comparable deep‑learning frameworks.
• Experience with modern deep‑learning advances such as Transformers, Vision‑Transformers, and large‑scale model training.
• Digital signal processing and statistical analysis.
• Software engineering best practices: Docker, CI/CD, version control, code reviews, experiment tracking.

• Competitive base salary ranging from $170,000 to $220,000 per year.
