Senior Accountant

About the role

Range is seeking a high‑ownership Senior Accountant to lead the monthly close, AP/AR, and payroll operations while partnering with the Controller on technical accounting and AI‑driven automation. This full‑time, onsite role is based at the company’s headquarters in McLean, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end monthly close: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and delivery of a clean trial balance.
• Manage AP, AR, and payroll processes, including vendor onboarding, coding, approvals, billing‑to‑cash reconciliation, and payroll accruals.
• Drive revenue recognition under ASC 606, handling variable consideration and contract modifications.
• Prepare income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements with variance analysis for leadership and board reporting.
• Collaborate with the Controller and VP of Finance to build AI‑driven automation for recurring accounting workflows.
• Support ERP migration: system selection, data migration, and integration of finance tools.

Required profile

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 public accounting and in‑house or startup exposure.
• Active CPA license (strongly preferred) and solid command of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Proven ability to run monthly close, AP/AR, and payroll independently with high accuracy.
• Resourceful, self‑directed, and comfortable researching technical accounting issues and escalating when needed.
